The Vintage Austin Register NZ announces its
2021 NATIONAL RALLY
Thursday 21st - Monday 25th January
Polish up and load your 12/4 (or other Austin) and head to the 2021 Rally.
Held in the Manawatu and organised by members of the Whanganui / Manawatu / Horowhenua Branch this long weekend promises to be a fun filled celebration of 100 years of the Austin 12/4.
Ngā Tawa Diocesan School in Marton has been booked as the venue for the Rally. Ngā Tawa is a girls' boarding school offering facilities suitable for hosting a Rally including meals, accommodation, and room to park campervans. The nearest alternative accommodation is limited to two motels in Marton, one in Bulls, and one in Sanson.
The school will be the hub for all activities.
A weekend of events is planned including scenic drives and a veritable smorgasbord of visits to a number of places of interest. There will certainly be something for everyone! There is also the opportunity for entrants to have a look at some of the events of the Whanganui Vintage Weekend if they wish to. There will be plenty of time for socializing in the evenings, some entertainment and a celebratory 100th final night meal.
Dinner, bed and breakfast @ Ngā Tawa Diocesan School = $ 60.00 p/p/night (including GF and dairy free meals), plus $5.00 for a wine or beer with your evening meal. Ngā Tawa provides sheets but not blankets, duvets or towels (although there are a limited number of duvets for those arriving from afar in very small Austins!)
We are looking into getting packed lunches provided. Alternatively lunches could be self catered from a local supermarket or cafe in Marton.
Entry fee ~ $45 per car and driver. Additional passengers ~ $15 each (TBC).
Registrations of interest in attending are essential before more final bookings are made and a registration form goes live. Please email
Dennis Milne - before the end of September if you would like to attend or if you have any further questions.
