National Rally

Dunedin,  Otago  14th – 16th March 2025

 

 

 

The Otago Branch of the VAR invite you all to join us for a weekend of interesting motoring and genuine Austin camaraderie while enjoying some true southern hospitality. Honestly folks, it’s worth the journey. In order to make this a relaxed weekend the organising committee has decided to centre it around the Historic Leviathan Hotel (opposite the Toitū Early Settlers Museum). There will be plenty of parking and although it’s not covered the park will be security patrolled over both nights.

Programme

Friday 14th March

4.30pm to 8pm Registration Leviathan Hotel. Supper optional.

 

Saturday 15th March

8.30am Assemble in the Leviathan car park for briefing.

9.00am Depart for destination to Macraes Flat (site of Oceana’s large gold mining operation).

Midday lunch at Stanley’s Historic Hotel (optional).

After lunch  a visit to the mine viewing Stanley’s Historic Hotel platform and an informational talk on the mine.

6pm Dinner at the Leviathan Hotel.

 After dinner Guest speaker.

Then cocoa and off to bed.

Sunday 16th March

All are welcome to breakfast at the Leviathan as part of the camaraderie.

8.30am Assembly and briefing at Leviathan car park.

9am Departure from car park. A shorter run ending in a complimentary BBQ lunch at the unique Otago Classic Motoring Club rooms.

 

Accommodation

As this rally is based in the central city there are numerous accommodation options very close. The Leviathan, as our base, has offered a discounted rate to Rally entrants.
