Come one and all, register NOW with ANY vintage Austin (or modern)            to celebrate 100 years of Austin 7 motoring.

A stunning programme of motoring and socialising based entirely on picturesque back country South Canterbury roads has been put together for your enjoyment. Over three days, the programme will include:

Friday: Registration & Socialising. The VCC Spares Shed will be open in the afternoon. BBQ dinner.

Saturday: aka The MacKenzie Highland Fling Day (kilt optional)

On back roads, some shingle, via the Pareora Gorge up towards the MacKenzie Pass. Morning tea provided in a woolshed in the Rollesby Valley. Taking in many points of interest the route takes you towards Burkes Pass, Fairlie and on into Pleasant Point.

Evening: Meal – bring a bow tie or bonnet (hat) to dress for dinner. Awesome Guest Speakers and Socialising.


To the Pleasant Point Railway & Historical Society, with a ride on the train for those who want to. Onwards, passing more          points of interest, we visit The Geraldine Vintage Car & Machinery Club Museum.

Evening: Quick Quiz, Blind Auction, Prize Giving.

Monday: depart homewards after breakfast.


COVID 19 Information

We are assuming that all care around Covid will still be required.

All entrants should be at least double vaccinated.                        

Your vaccine pass will need to be sighted at Registration.


  • Timaru Girl’s High School Hostel Facilities:

A variety of single and twin share rooms. Fitted sheet and pillowcase supplied, please bring your own duvet or sleeping bag and towel. Bathroom facilities will be separated for women and men. A limited number of duvets may be available for Austin 7 owners coming from afar! Please mention you want one provided on your registration form.

Breakfast, packed lunches and dinners are provided by the Hostel.

There are a variety of motels available in Timaru should you not want to stay at the Hostel.

  • All entrants are asked to bring an appropriate wrapped item (value ~ $10) for a Blind Auction as part of the Sunday evening entertainment.

  • Our esteemed Rally Director is Chris Chambers supported by Teresa Clements and a team of Canterbury Branch members.
